Biomedical Technology Degree
Programs
The medical field is becoming
increasingly reliant on complex machines to deliver healthcare to patients.
A biomedical technology program prepares you to assist engineers in the design and
construction of these new machines. You also learn to install, maintain and test
them.
In a typical biomedical technology program you learn how this technology works. You
start with a foundation of biology, chemistry, math and physics and move on to electronic
circuits and microprocessors.
You will study how biomedical instruments and other devices are used. Some programs
may offer you an internship giving you real experience in working with these devices.
Both associate's and bachelor's degrees are offered in biomedical technology. Both
programs will most likely lead to work in a hospital setting.
