Counseling Degree Programs
With a career in counseling, you
would assist people with personal, family, educational, mental health, and career
decisions and problems. The specific duties performed depend on the individuals you
serve and on the settings in which you work.
Most counseling work requires certification and at least a master's degree in counseling
or psychiatry.
Many counselors work in schools guiding students to careers, further education, or
in helping them with psychological or behavioral issues.
Increasingly, companies are hiring counselors for their employees, especially in
high stress environments where difficult issues may turn up, such as in the law enforcement
or fire protection fields.
